Sportscope - A Sports skills App

As part of our Transition Year programme, we have a class called Mini Company Every week. It is basically what the title implies; we set up our own mini company or business and sell a product and record the financial sales and anything else that is involved in running your own business. We then have to write up a report on what we did throughout the year since September. We then send our reports off to the Kildare Enterprise board where they are judged. The Board also send out to judge to View our product and listen to our presentation.

Our mini company is called Sportscope.  Our product is a sports skills App (Application) for phones and computers.  The App would be used to boost your sports skills and knowledge in four chosen sports (hockey, camogie, Gaelic football and horse riding) whether you’re a beginner or simply trying to improve your skills.

This App was made using Windows Software on a computer and then it will be sold on the windows App store.  Our aim is to develop a high quality and unique App.  Our company aims to bridge the gap that exists in the market between workout Apps and specific sporting Apps.

Here are a few of the screen shots of what app was supposed to look like.

At the beginning of January 2 women from the Kildare Enterprise board came to our school to judge all 14 Mini company projects in TY. Afterwards the judges picked 4 companies to be shortlisted  and progress into the second round of the competition. Unfortunately, we weren't chosen to go forward to the next round. However, We were awarded The Best Business Report. As you can see we were all smiles on the day. It was great to see everyone's projects and displays also.
